OH Cards

A deck of images,
a doorway to the unconscious.

Not tarot. Not divination. Not a personality test.
A tool for seeing what's already there — just waiting to be noticed.

Images that speak before words do

OH Cards (also called associative or projection cards) are a deck of simple images and words. There's no fixed meaning attached to any card. The meaning emerges when you look at it — from your history, your mood, your unconscious mind.

In a session, I might lay out a few cards and ask: "What do you see?" The answer is never wrong. The answer is where we start.

The difference from tarot: Tarot has established meanings — the Fool, the Tower, the Lovers. OH Cards have none. The card doesn't tell you anything. You tell the card. The card is just a mirror.

An example spread

In a typical exercise, two cards are drawn — one image, one word. The combination creates a field of meaning that only you can interpret.

"What do you see when you put them together? What's on the other side?"

There is no right answer. The answer that comes first is the one worth exploring.

Session warm-up

A quick card to get things moving when words aren't coming easily. The image gives you somewhere to start.

When you're stuck

If a conversation has hit a familiar loop, a card can break the pattern — the unconscious speaks in images, not arguments.

Self-exploration

You can use OH Cards on your own as a journaling prompt. Draw a card, write what comes. No one else needs to see it.

FAQ

Is this like tarot? Can it predict the future?
No. Tarot has a structured symbolic system with established meanings. OH Cards have none. The card doesn't tell you anything — it's a mirror for what's already in your unconscious. It doesn't predict; it reveals.
Do I need any special training to use them?
Not at all. The only skill required is curiosity. In a session, I'll guide the process. On your own, all you need is a quiet moment and a willingness to notice what comes up — without judging it.
Can I buy my own deck?
Yes. The original OH Cards deck is published by OH Cards International (Ely Raman). There are also many other associative card decks available. I recommend starting with the original — it's simple, elegant, and has stood the test of time.
I drew a card online and it felt powerful. What now?
That's the point. If something stirred, it's worth exploring — in a journal, with a trusted friend, or in a session. The card opened a door. You decide whether to walk through.

Want to explore with OH Cards in a session?

We can use them as part of depth counseling or hypnosis work — or just sit with a spread and see what emerges.
